New online programs for homeschooled students

This article discusses how more parents in the United States are now homeschooling their children through online programs. Parents feel that this provides more opportunities for their children because they can work at their own pace, as well as learn the material better. One of these programs is a software called Time4learning. Parents use this software to help their child succeed in language arts and math. Programs like Time4learning makes homeschooling fun and educational for children. Read this article, and tell me what you think about using these programs for homeschooling. Do you think these programs are a good idea?

i think that these programs are a good idea because learning shouldnt just be boring it should be fun to. if learning is boring then people dont focus very good. if its interesting you have the students' interest and they will do better in school.

I think that these programs could be good for children who are homeschooled! It is nice because the children can move at their own pace and have fun while doing it! Being able to move at your own pace is a definate plus... and so is having fun while learning. If learning is fun everyone will want to learn!

I think one of the key concepts in the article was the on-line program should be used to supplement the curriculum. In the past, I have graded assignments submitted from home-schooled students that are enrolled in classes through our district's virtual learning opportunity. What I found was that these particular students were learning how to cut and paste answers directly from the Internet. I didn't feel like they were learning the material. I'm not for or against homeschooling. Each parent has to decide what schooling options are best for their child. I'm glad to see that more tools are becoming available for parents.
